David Hedge

Coach Hedge is entering his eleventh season as head coach of the Windham High School softball team, where he has led the team to 8 playoff appearances including the 2016 Championship game in the NHIAA Division II tournament. Prior to Windham, he was the head coach of the Manchester Memorial Varsity Softball team and led the team to its only Class L (Division I) State final, and led the Crusaders to seven consecutive NHIAA playoff appearances; including 2004 Final Four and 2006 State Finals.
Coach Hedge was named the 2006 Union Leader "Softball Coach of the Year".
Before serving as the Memorial Varsity coach, Coach Hedge led the Junior Varsity team from 2002-2004 with a 42-12 record.
In 2010-2015, Coach Hedge co-directed softball camps with NCAA Division II Assumption University, the 2011 Northeast-10 Season Champions and 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Champions
Coach Hedge was very influential in bringing fast-pitch to the Manchester Girls Softball League (MGSL), and coached the 14U MGSL All-Stars to a 10th place finish at the Babe Ruth Nationals in Sparta, NJ, as well as taking the 12U team to a State Championship.
Coach Hedge founded the USA Softball Junior Olympic Mystics in 2004 and renamed the program to the NH Mystics in 2010. The Mystics has grown to include players from throughout Southern NH, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Coach Hedge has been a head softball coach at both the high school varsity and youth levels for over 25 years and has been providing pitching instruction for 19. A number of former and current players of Coach Hedge have gone on to play at NCAA Division I, II, III and Junior colleges and universities.
